After a long wait, Mac users can now download a native version of WhatsApp. This Mac-optimized app is built using the Mac Catalyst software, which is designed to allow developers to create apps that can be used on either macOS or iOS. The new app has a fresh interface with three panels, making it easier to quickly switch between chats, calls, archived and starred messages while seeing contacts and interactions at a glance.
In 2021, WhatsApp revealed plans to extend multi-device support, hinting at the possibility of an iPad app. To further expand its platform, WhatsApp recently released a native version for Windows 10, with improved speed and reliability. The macOS app has been in the TestFlight program for months, but now anyone can download it via WhatsApp’s website.
Soon, WhatsApp will enable its users to send messages that can only be viewed once.
