The iPhone 14 series finally includes an always-on display feature, but it is only available on the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max. Unlike the always-on displays on Android phones, the always-on display on the iPhone 14 Pro is dimmed and displays the time and widgets on the lock screen. However, users can customize the appearance of the always-on display on their iPhone 14 Pro or iPhone 14 Pro Max. If you have not yet set up the always-on display on your iPhone 14 Pro, here is how to do it:
- Open Settings and head to Display & Brightness.
- Tap Always On Display.
- Turn the toggle on for Always On Display.
To set up the always-on display on your iPhone 14 Pro, go to Settings and select Display & Brightness. Then, tap on Always On Display and turn the toggle on for this feature.
With the always-on display feature turned on, you may notice that it is different from the always-on display on Android phones. If you want to customize the appearance of the always-on display on your iPhone 14 Pro or iPhone 14 Pro Max to make it more similar to the always-on display on Android devices, here is how to do it:
- Open Settings, then Display & Brightness
- Go to Always on Display.
- If it is not already on, turn on the Always On Display.
- To have a pitch-black always-on display, turn the toggle off for Show Wallpaper.
- You can also choose to turn off the Show Notifications.
If you follow the steps above, you will have a dark, simple always-on display on your iPhone 14 Pro or iPhone 14 Pro Max that does not show notifications. If you prefer the always-on display as it is implemented by Apple, you do not need to make any changes. However, if you want the always-on display to be more similar to the one found on Android devices, you can turn off the Show Wallpaper and Show Notifications options.
